37 Weeks Friday, Feb 27 2009

hello again,

I am 37 weeks  now and Autumn is not cooperating! So far i have tried walking, raspberry leaf tea, and pineapple to bring on labor and NOTHIN! Only some really bad braxton hicks contractions at about 3 am this morning. I went to the doctor Thursday and she told me that most first time moms deliver between 39 and 41 weeks, i wanted to punch her. So, she said I’m looking at having this baby right at my due date which is not what i wanted to hear, but, that’s less than 3 weeks away now so even if my little one doesn’t come early i still wont have to wait much longer! We have another apt next week where the doctor will tell me if i am dilated at all which will give us a better idea of when baby Autumn plans on making her grand entrance! We will keep you informed :)

36 weeks and this baby can’t come soon enough! Friday, Feb 20 2009

Hello,

I am 36 weeks pregnant now and cant wait for this baby to come! I saw the doctor this week and he told me he doesn’t want me to have the baby until i reach 37 weeks bc that is what they consider full term. So… starting next week i have the green light to try every old wives tell said to bring on labor, from climbing stairs to eating pineapple, i plan to try them all ;)   At this point i am as miserable as i can be. My hands and fingers are so swollen i can hardly close them, I’m having terrible back pain, and my walking has turned to a mere shaky waddle. I will be 37 weeks next Wednesday, so I’m going to try really hard to go into labor then, hopefully Autumn will cooperate :)

32 weeks & counting…. Friday, Jan 23 2009

Hello All!

We had our 32 week check up today…and, drum roll please…..the baby is head down and in position!!!!! I am soooo excited bc i have been walking 2miles, three days a week (which for a fat pregnant woman is like running the NY marathon three days a week) trying to get her to drop! I am soooo glad it has payed off! My books and the doctor have told me that walking may help the baby to come a few weeks early and even if she doesn’t it will definitely help during the labor & delivery! The Doc said today that my weight gain looked great and i measured right on  target. We will return in two weeks for our 34 week check up and will keep you updated!!!!!!

p.s. We have a new family website that we will be posting Autumn’s birth announcement on and that we will begin using to keep in touch with you all after she is born. The web address is www.autumnryan.webs.com  We will email it to everyone after the birth to make sure you have it!

An Unexpected Visit…… Thursday, Jan 8 2009

Hello All,

We had a bit of an unexpected visit to the practitioner today! I have been having severe sharp pains in my pelvic area that i worried might be contractions and after waking up last night several times in extreme pain i called the nurse at my OB this afternoon. They asked me to come in and gave me a NST (non stress test) for about 30 min, where the hook you up to fetal monitors and record uterine movement and contractions. After the test i saw the doctor who told me i had one contraction during the test but it was most likely a braxton hicks contraction because it wasn’t very strong. She did an exam and said the baby’s positioning was good and i wasn’t dilated which was good to hear! Turns out my little one is literally a real pain! Because of the way she is positioned right now she is hitting a nerve when she wriggles around in there and that’s what is causing such intense pain. The doctor gave me some ideas on how to get her to shift positions a bit when the pain starts acting up but said it should all subside over the next few weeks as the baby shifts into the head down position for delivery. So, nothing to worry about but well keep you updated! Keep us in your prayers that she decides on a new pose quickly as she is making her mommy VERY uncomfortable!

30 weeks and counting…. Wednesday, Jan 7 2009

Hello everyone! We hope you had Happy Holidays and that everyone is doing well! We had our 30 week checkup yesterday and everything seems to be going perfectly. We will make a return visit in two weeks which will continue up until delivery! We are 3/4 of the way through the pregnancy now and very very excited about Autumn’s arrival.  We now have just 10 weeks until my due date but we are hoping baby Autumn will grace us with her presence a bit early as it is normal to go into labor anywhere between 36 and 40 weeks. (I’m shooting for 36!) Please keep us in your prayers as Ryan continues pursuing his MBA and the arrival of our daughter quickly approaches! Many Blessings,

6 months, new pics Saturday, Nov 15 2008

Hello everyone! Well, we had our hospital tour this morning and it went great! It made everything seem so real now! They gave us detailed instructions on what to do when i go into labor and showed us the delivery rooms as well as the recovery rooms. They were soooo nice! Did you know CMC (where we are having the baby) has a nationally recognized maternity center! The place was so nice and cozy with wood floors and beautiful decor, i felt right at home! They also told us more about all the classes they offer. we are going to be doing a child birthing class and Ryan is doing a boot-camp for new dads class in December! We couldn’t be happier or any more excited! I also included in this post some new belly pics! God bless!

22 weeks, almost Tuesday, Nov 11 2008

Hello All!

Well, I cant believe how quickly the time has gone! In just one week i will be 6 months already! Whats really crazy is that in just 6 weeks, i will be in my third trimester!!!! I am so excited and cant wait to meet my little girl! She is moving all over the place, doing somersaults and punching me in the stomach, her daddy even felt her kick for the first time last week! We have  our 22 week check up tomorrow and are going to be doing our hospital tour this Saturday. We are very excited! We will also have our child birthing class coming up in December and we just finished putting the nursery together last week, we have been very busy lately. We are very excited to be going to KY to visit our family and friends in just a couple of weeks and will be having our shower while we are there! We don’t have any new pics of the baby, but i am including a couple of the nursery for  all of our family back home to see! Oh…and… we picked a name. We haven’t picked a middle name yet bc we left that up to dad and he is sill debating, but we decided that her first name will be Autumn, and we cant wait to see her!!!!! We’ll write more soon!

A quick update Wednesday, Nov 12 2008

Hello everyone, I had my doctors appointment today. everything went great! The heart rate was excellent and i measured right on target. I have gained 14 lbs so far which was like a punch in the gut to hear, but i guess that’s just all part of it! I have my 26 week check up scheduled in four weeks, but after the 27th week i will be in my third trimester so i have to start going every two weeks after this next appointment! Anyway, Ryan and i are happy that we got a good report and that everything seems to be going great! We’ll keep you updated and let you know how our hospital tour goes this weekend!

Much Love,

Ry, Stace and Autumn
