11 weeks…yeah! Just two more and we will be in our second trimester and beginning our fourth month! We are so excited! next week is the big day when we get to hear the heart beat and then just four short weeks after that we will know if we should start buying things in blue or pink! I have this thing that is supposed to let you record the baby’s heart beat and email it to family and friends, so if i figure out how to use that i might try and email it to some of you, we’ll see :) Well, we hope to have lots more to tell you after our dr. apt next week so ill write again then!

P.s. Below is a picture from a 3D ultra sound. 3D ultra sounds are widely used now and this is the type we will be having in about 5 weeks. This is a picture i found of a baby in the 12th week. This is what our little one looks like, or will look like next week. Its amazing that even though he is only about 2 inches from crown to rump all of his organs are in place and he even moves now (but hes still to small for me to feel it!) My pregnancy book says that by the 11th week, if you press on your belly, the baby will move in response to your prodding. How amazing is that! I cant see how anyone could ever say hes not yet a human being. Not only is he already his own person, but even better, he’s my baby!

Love, Ryan and Stace

How cool is this! If you could hold a 10 week old fetus, this is how small his feet would be!

week 9…an update Friday, Aug 15 2008

Hello all,

Today we begin week 9 in our pregnancy, and in other milestones it was our second dr’s appointment! We went over a detailed family history and were offered all sorts of genetic testing to make sure our child is “normal”. But, we declined them all. we decided nothing can change how much we already love  and desire this child, so we are leaving it in the Lord’s hands! The nurse did assure me at today’s visit that my seemingly abnormally large belly is not so abnormal after all, what a relief! She said its pretty common for women that aren’t particularly tall and that are relatively slim pre pregnancy to begin showing quite early :) She didn’t seem to concerned about the multiples that run in our family either, she said that doesn’t really mean much and the chance of there being more than one in there wasn’t very high (which i must admit i was a bit relieved about) The most exciting news of the appointment however, was that we get to back in three weeks to hear our precious baby’s heart beat for the very first time! We are ecstatic, and cant wait to share more with you then!!

8 weeks…on Friday! Wednesday, Aug 6 2008

Hello Everyone,

we are now 8 weeks…almost. I want to be able to say i am as far along as possible bc my belly is sooo huge! Today three people at work asked me how far along i was, and when i only said 7 1/2 weeks, all three of them (on separate occasions) said, ” are you sure you aren’t having twins!” We go to the doctor next Friday so if it is twins, hopefully we will find out then! We included an updated picture of my growing belly, but if it grows much more i will have to stop posting pictures of it as a courtesy to others ;) Will write again soon,

Love,

Ryan, stacey & our big belly
